Hello, hope you are having a lovely day!

I just received a request to shoot a wedding, and looked at the Ideal Budget for the videographer. "Under $500" it said. This request has led me to post this quick note. Unfortunately a wedding video requires a lot of expensive equipment, and at least 30 hours of work, plus materials (DVD). The least I, and if I may speak as the collective "we" (other videographers) can charge to cover costs, equipment, hours, training to use all the equipment for a wedding shoot is $1500-$3000. This number depends on hours of footage, and number of cameras (for complete coverage you need 2 - that's two people working) All of this is why we need to charge a lot more than "Under $500!!" Most photographers do not charge less than $700 - and their job is a tenth of what ours is! A TENTH!

Thank-you for not underestimating a videographers/filmmakers job by offering less than $1500!!!

Bless.
Katie

What is involved behind the scenes? Where your money mainly goes too!!!

Welcome to the brief of what happens after we show up at your wedding and film!!

CASE SENARIO: After 5 hours of filming at your wedding....
We set up our editing studio which has high-end editing programs, high-end computers and external hard drives, cables splayed about and speakers ready to blare.
We start capturing all the footage taken at your wedding which can take up to 6-10 hours, depending on the project and equipement used for filming.
From there we start building your film from start to finish which includes picking out the best shots and angles from different cameras, matching them up and picking the best sound. This is the process that takes up the most time and can take 1 person at least 10 hours to put together. Once it is put together, tweeks and final details are adjusted to make it seemless and polished, which can take another 5-8 hours.
Once the project is of a presentable status, we show it to the team and get second opinions. We will also send you a copy and if you see something you would like changed then you can let us know.
After that, we spend another 3 hours making DVD's with labels and packaging for you and send it out.

That's what happens behind the scenes!!

Hello Brides and Wedding Planners!

Welcome, and thank-you for your interest in Romeo & Juliet Wedding Films!

I am very excited to launch Romeo & Juliet Wedding Films this year, after making various styles and genres of films over the last 6 years.

Last year I had some friends ask me if I could shoot their wedding, so naturally as a lover of film making I said yes. Not expecting much would sprout from that project, I got it done, sent it off, and that was it. Well, I realized over the last year, how much I really, really, really enjoyed making that film as everybody was so happy at the event, celebrating love, and seeing great friends and family! So then I thought - you know, I really could get into doing more of that, and that's when Romeo & Juliet Wedding Films was conceived.

I am very happy to be of service to all the future-to-be brides this summer and fall. I will be based in Canada this year, and happy to travel to meet you at your wedding. Please see website for details, or contact me.

Have a great day, and happy wedding planning!
Katie
